The Museum collections are housed in an early colonial building constructed in 1856 by James Mortal. It was known as the "Golden Fleece" Hotel and was once a stop over point for Cobb & Co. before the arrival of the Railway. From 1899 to 1924 the building was used as a doctor's surgery. The Molong Historical Society acquired the premises in 1969 to house it's historical collections. Opening hours are from 2PM to 5PM on Sundays and Public Holidays. Arrangements can be made to open at other times. There are displays of Clothing, China and Glassware, War relics and local Geological Specimens, etc. A kitchen, agricultural room, bedroom and parlour are furnished in late 19th century styles. A photographic record of Fairbridge Farm School and a gallery of local Pioneers are on Display.
