All my life, I have always enjoyed making handcrafted articles. I am definitely not a reader or TV addict!! I have been involved in many crafts, from pottery to patchwork.

In 2003, I began making lampwork beads, though, I have been making my own jewellery since I was a teenager - a long time ago!

I "discovered" lampwork in bead magazines from the U.S. and began researching the technique on the Internet.  I ordered a Cindy Jenkins book from the States and thought..."I can do this!"  With the help of my husband, Steve, I set up a hot head torch to the barbeque gas bottle and made my first glass beads.

Although I have not attended glass bead making classes, I have watched demonstrations by my friends in the SASSie (Sydney and Surrounding Suburbs Glass Beaders).  I have moved on to a hotter torch and connected to oxygen to continue my journey in glass.
