Updated with new shots showing the new design (4/6/05). This is a radical redesign from the previous shoulder (see bottom of this page).

 

This shoudler was constructed using a lathe and other tools. At this stage the elbow design is like to change.

 

You can see from the photos that this new design allows similar range of movement as a real shoulder but also allows the mechanical version to be strong.

Update with the latest shots of the new Shoulder joint prototype. This has been designed to approximate a real shoulder joint. The design is to allow maximum flexibility and control.
