| BASIC COVERAGE The policies placed by W.D. MUNRO & ASSOCIATES PTY.LTD. aquaculture team primarily cover mortality or loss of fish and shellfish held on commercial aquaculture farms. Public aquaria and other large ornamental collections can also be accommodated. Cover can be arranged against a selection of specified risks, depending on the species being grown, the requirements of the client and whether the stock is held in offshore or land-based units. A summary of the risks that can be insured, from which a selection can be made, is listed below. The client can elect to cover any combination of these perils, according to his personal circumstances. The precise terms of cover will be subject to the client's application form and will be set out in the policy issued. OFFSHORE FARMS - the policy covers mortality or loss of stock resulting from: - Pollution. - Theft and malicious acts. - Predation or physical damage by predators or other aquatic organisms (but not sea lice or other ectoparasites). - Storm, lightning, tidal wave (tsunami), collision, sudden and unforeseen structural failure of equipment. - Freezing, supercooling, ice damage. - Deoxygenation due to competing biological activity (plankton bloom) or from changes in the physical or chemical conditions of the water, including upwelling and high water temperature. - Any other change in concentration of the normal chemical constituents of the water, including change in pH or salinity. - Disease. ONSHORE FARMS - the policy covers mortality or loss of stock resulting from: - Pollution. - Malicious acts, theft, predators. - Flood, tidal wave (tsunami). - Storm damage, subsidence, landslip, structural failure, breakage or blockage of any part of the water supply system. - Drought, fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake - Freezing, frost damage, frazil ice. - Mechanical breakdown or accidental damage to machinery and other installations. - Electrical breakdown, failure or interruption of the electricity supply, electrocution. - Deoxygenation due to vegetation, microbiological activity or high water temperature. - Any other change in concentration of the normal chemical constituents of the water, including supersaturation with dissolved gases and change in pH or salinity. - Disease W.D.
