The levels are as follows and consist of ....
Level I ..... a five minute thermal flight
a fifteen minute slope flight or another five minute
thermal flight not flown on the same day.
five spot landings within three metres.
Witness All tasks to be witnessed by one witness over 21
years of age who is not related to the pilot or one
witness, holding level I status or higher who is not
related to the pilot.
Level II A fifteen minute thermal flight
a one hour slope flight or another fifteen minute
thermal flight not flown on the same day.
ten spot landings within 1.5 metres.
six contest results with one place or 3000 points.
Witness Same as for level I
Level III A thirty minute thermal flight.
a two hour slope flight or another thirty minute
thermal flight not flown on the same day.
a one kilo goal and return
six contest results with two places or 4500 points.
Witness Two witnesses as for level I
Level IV A one hour thermal flight.
a four hour slope flight or another one hour
thermal flight not flown on the same day.
a two kilo goal and return
six contest results with two places and one win
or 6000 points.
Witness Same as for level III
Level V A two hour thermal flight.
an eight hour slope flight.
a ten kilo goal and return
six contest results with three wins and 12000 points.
Witness Two witnesses each holding level I status or higher
and who are not related to the pilot.
This LSF programme is both interesting and challenging. I found the goal and return tasks very exciting and great fun...... Eddie Smith
