Irrelevant Ramblings

A look into the life of someone who is searching for everything without a map.

I decided to go for a completely different colour scheme on my site, which I reckon is more attuned to the "cool" look... Tedy reckons I copied his.. but you can't really copy it when his site background is black! Sheesh! The blue was good, but probably a bit too "soft" for me.

Tell me what you think and whether I shouldn't have tried to make it look better!

The rains are here... as evidenced (sp?) by these photos. It didn't come out too clearly but what the grey stuff is rain.. and lots of it.

Compared with this photo from last night, when it was only drizzling a bit.

Ok... the photos didn't come out properly... so no pics of dreary/foggy melbourne :( I guess you get that when you try to take photos while driving.. hehe.. something seriously not recommended if you wish to stay in control of your vehicle!

Anyway, dropped Eliza (my gf) off at the airport today. Fairly interesting how there is a mass exodus of students at this time of the year, most of them with huge suitcases (Eliza's was only 29kg!) and their need to take home about 3 boxes of mangoes each. The flight was full I think, and even if it wasn't full, the cargo would make it up to maximum weight anyways. So 3 months of hanging around doing not much.. so many other people are going away... meanwhile I will be here in Melbourne in the ultra hot summer. Oh.. its raining outside now, hopefully that will make things not so foggy outside. Thats about it for today.

Hmm..what a dull day... photos later... but its dreary and foggy.. kinda... dunno.. meant to rain.. but not yet.. more later...

A bit more productive today, earnt some money and went and walked around the new Collins St bridge. From the frist photo below.. this is what it leads to... great... another pile of dust and construction... too bad the tram line just kinda ends. The plan is to extend Collins Street pretty much straight down towards the two big sticks that is the Bolte bridge.

The bridge also allows a good view of one of the pieces of "artwork" that is in the docklands, it looks like a giant penguin... All I have to say is that if that thing falls over one day, I don't want to be under it... its one big piece of concrete, meant to be a aboriginal bird that oversees Melbourne or something like that.

Hmm... another job rejection... oh well... looks like that I'll be slaving away doing data entry for a while... *sigh*... usual crap about how I was unsucessful and that they wish me the best for the future. Neh. A better future would be to actually get the job and earn some money, get some more experience and be better off for it. Now it stays the same, with no difference to my life... have to get a better job, that has more pay, is more interesting and can actually help me get a graduate job when I graduate... grrr...

Bleh.. today was another boring day... didn't even venture outside until around 4 to get the mail. Hmm.. thats about it..

My achievement for today: Putting the Comments thing in at the bottom of every entry... =)

Well.. the first real day of my 3.5 month vacation. So what did I do today.... let see... Woke up late-ish, then did nothing, jumped on here and browsed for something interesting, had breakfast, read bits of saturday's paper for some reason. Then went out, met up with Felicia at uni to have lunch, walked around the city and then went to work at my boring data-entry job from 3-7pm... Thats about it, hopefully tomorrow I will do something interesting, take some pictures and have something exciting to write about here... but I don't think so... but we'll see. Some guys are meant to come and find where the leaking is coming for... but not sure whether they will come, so I guess its gonna be another boring day. *sigh*.

Oh, I found out one of my project partners has a blog too... its here

Finally, freedom... I have finished my exams and now looking forward to 3 months of doing absolutely nothing... well... maybe earn some money.. and try not to spend too much of it. Everyone is going away though, so dunno what I am going to do... guess that bodes well for saving money. Now I wait till hopefully I get some interviews and then land a job that is more involving than my current job. Also gotta start reviewing my resume I guess... got to do all that graduate thing next year... maybe with a Masters degree someone will hire me... hmm...

Anyways, tonight is about relaxing and thinking about the next 3 months of no class, no assignments and no exams.... yay!

So today, I studied for my exam tomorrow. I don't even know what to study... Masters exams are about your opinions and using what you learnt to back up those opinions. Thats what makes it hard... As you read more, your opinions and judgements change... and then it comes exam time and what do you write... its not like undergrad where you dump basically all you know onto a piece of paper and hope for the best.

The exam 2moro is on IS Strategic Planning, which is actually quite interesting. Our lecturer believes that we should come out of the subject with more questions than we started out with, which is great, for the general "understanding" of a subject... It really doesn't help when you have more questions when it comes to an exam, where the main idea is to provide answers to questions asked... not provide more questions to questions asked.. although, I'm guess if its the right questions, you can get away with that... but am I willing to try that... I don't think so.. hehe.. so now I have prepared some answers, hopefully be able to remember it all and brain-dump it to make the answer related to the question. I guess I already know the questions (the lecturer provided them before the end of semester) so hopefully my writings will be good enough for him to give me at least a D (thats 70%+ for those who are used to A,B,C,D scales!)

Well, back to study.. uhh... memorising what i have wrote! =)
Woohoo.. after a weekend of trying.. this blogger thing finally decided to work.. so I will be keeping a blog on here from now on! =)
