Got a phone call and I have an interview for a job I applied for a while back. It came as bit of a surprise, but nonetheless a good surprise. Finished today off by catching up with Fel in the city square but it was too cold sitting at Brunetti. They had the heater things and even though we were sitting under it, they were of no use because the wind blows in and you freeze anyways :/ Winter has finally hit Melbourne... brrrrrr

Finally I have most things settled, with some exciting news to come hopefully. Spent most of this week's free time chasing up stuff regarding an investment loan. Hopefully everything will work smoothly from now on. Its been a definite struggle against a combination of unpublished conditions and general "processing" time by some of Australia's larger financial institutions. *sigh*

Had a good week but now back at work :( Things are good, things are settled (for now) and it was the perfect weather to have time off. Mainly just bummed around at home and caught up on a few things that I had been putting off for a while. Had a real (kinda) Australian pub experience for Chris' girlfriend's birthday, pub meal and karaoke (no, I didn't sing :P) and overall a good night out. Backed that up with a housewarming at Fel's apartment and another dinner out. I was buggered after that, must be getting old :/
So this morning was a rude awakening having to get up at 7:30 to get to work at 9. At least its pay week this week, so didn't have the usual "cravings" to take out all the money that I have last week whilst on holidays. ;)

Only one more work day till a break, and by the way I've been working, it seems like there is some panic that everything will fall apart (or could fall apart) if I am not there. As if that would happen. I've gained a lot more responsibility lately which should be compensated with an increase in grading, but that seems to have been left out of the equation, so not really happy with that. There are a few ways apparently to get this to happen, although maybe the easiest is to find another job?? hmmm

The previous post was WORK related, as my love life is quite settled and happy. :P Its been bugging me for a while with what-if I had applied for jobs that seemed out of my reach and been on a completely different track. I've also rejected offers of moving interstate/overseas within the last year. It only comes because I truly am getting frustrated with the lack of recognition (and $$$ of course) for what I take responsibility for at the moment, but I've started taking the first steps to fixing that (and maybe a whole lot more). There is no way I can get stuck in that "I don't care" attitude that is so prevalent throughout the public service. Better off in the private sector? maybe? but again, it comes down to a what-if scenario... GAH!
On a completely different note, who the hell is Bec Cartwright? Apart from them getting engaged to "C'mon boy" and him getting her pregrnant, how could she possibly be nominated for a Logie (at least she didn't win). Geez, don't tell me there wasn't something going on before Lleyton and Kim split up. At least they (Bec and Lleyton) don't do things by half measures. *rolls eyes*

There's a certain something that has always been stuck in the back of my mind. Too many "what if" scenarios that I just don't want to think about. However, is it part of moving on to deal with it? I dunno. The pondering continues... *sigh*

Another week begins, although this was where my timesheet had "reduce flex" written on it. I guess working hard has some benefits when you work for the government. This will continue the 4-day week sequence that I have had going since before Easter. :P I've been getting it from everyone about not applying for this "manager" job. Oh well, guess I can ask everyone to help me write it next time something like that comes up, seeing as they all want to volunteer their help now :D
