So today was my first day. It's never what you expected. My last job I hit the ground running, expected to make a difference from day one. Today was different, it was more of the "reading" and "understanding" and not much else. Also helps as its the day before Cup Day and not many people bothered turning up to work. Got a fairly large shock when my phone rang, it was someone who had helped me prepare for the new organisation, just wanting to know how I had settled in. At least its a holiday tomorrow :D

One more week
I've been asked whether I am nervous stepping into the unknown. What I am more worried about is that if this change turns out to be more of the same. Apparently there are the same sorts of "problems" and "cultures" in the same proportion, and considering I am going to somewhere larger, this has got to be bad. I think that it could be worse, but hey, if they are going to give me more for doing the same, then I'm all for it. It had better be worth it :D

Everyone was so surprised with his (non) reaction that they don't know what to think. Maybe he will have a mental breakdown? Maybe he is just resigned to the fact that there is no chance for him? I dunno, maybe reality is finally setting in. His petty power hoarding techniques has gotten him to where he is now, at the bottom of the political ladder. Oh wells, 11 more days and I can look forward to something new! :)

"Two weeks notice"
Yes, it has come down to the two week countdown clock where, once started, will be probably the busiest two weeks I've had for a while. Pressing the button tomorrow :D

So yes, the offer is there (subject to internal approvals). Its taken this long to get to this stage, what's another week or two of waiting for that to happen. :D Meanwhile, its "business as usual" with everything else going along nicely :)

We've finally moved into somewhat current technology and bought ourselves a DVD player. The fact was, we never even watched videos and with the internet, who needed to :D That all changed when we "acquired" some (apparently) hot Korean translated into Chinese series that is showing on TVB. So we've now got ourselves a combined set top box for Digital TV (multiple channels of the same thing basically, but better quality) and DVD player. That was my achievement for the weekend, spending some cash to move out of the "tape" age :D
