Caught up with Nick today, back from the freezing depths of New Zealand (apparently the maximum temp for the whole summer was 27 degrees) and visited Caroline down in Frankston. Ended up at the beach (damn it was hot today!) and walked around in the water for a bit. Photos maybe later (not mine, yet again!)
I was tagged by Alaysia a little while ago but just didn't get around to blogging about it. :D
5 Random things about me
- My first trip to a hairdresser (not including those in people's home) was this year
- I have way too much credit available
- This year was the first in many where the majority of things I wanted to achieve I did. :)
- I expect to be able to achieve too much, too quickly
- I've been spending way too much time playing Civ 4 :D

Merry Christmas! :D
The decorations are up, the tree (living one, pictures later) is decorated and inside... the presents are underneath and all is in readiness. A lot of running around today getting stuff ready but it seems to be all good, now we just need to cook the turkey properly *fingers crossed* :D
Edit: Our own live Christmas Tree

Went for our usual Friday night ice cream from our favourite place Trampoline ;)

And yes, the gelati is good enough to cause drooling, as the bag says. I also received some photos from last night's ex-work Christmas party which I will put up maybe tomorrow. Now going to finish off that gelati tub that we bought. :)

Coming to the end of the year, I'm not where I thought I would be at this time last year. It's been different, a year of changes professionally and definitely lots better than I could have ever hoped for. :) Last December, I was starting out, had got myself a permanent position for the first time in a long time (I had been there over a year already on 3 and 1 month 'contracts') but was being deeply undervalued both financially and in responsibility. Starting to look for another job in March, going through the pains of interviews, rejection letters, etc. until my current job was offered in October.
So this month, I am yet again, starting out in a new position. This time, working with people that may actually appreciate my skills (and I know they value me financially! :D) and let me grow in this organisation. It seems much more progressive and up to date. At least I can make decisions and do things without being "watched" and "monitored" so closely. So different to how it was meant to work before (not saying that was the way it was though ;))

Bad Spelling Day?

Came across this on CNN. Apparently there are three ways to spell Qantas :D
In the address bar: quantas
Second time lucky in the title: Qantus
and Finally they get it right in the article proper
What is more scary is the fact that it was apparently written in Sydney? (Maybe its Sydney, Novia Scotia)
