Its finally over!
What has taken up most of the past two weeks... its finally over and life can get back to some sort of normality again.
Really early mornings catching the train...

There is a lack of motivation on my part to get work done these days. I mean, its not like there is no work, but between RBJ forums, news (yahoo, cnn, the age, etc), I really don't know where my time goes :D Its probably the whole "stuck in endless meetings" thing that leads me down to the coffee shop to try to stay awake. Oh well, at least its more interesting than stuffing envelopes like my previous job (no, it wasn't in the job description, just what was expected to be done)!

Working weekends is tough, I don't know how I used to manage to do it week in, week out. I guess that was when I was at uni, but working 4 days in the office and then the weekend as well drained me completely. The work wasn't hard, but getting up at 5am for a 6:30am start in the city is. Especially as it is towards the end of daylight savings, the sun doesn't even begin to show until around 7am. Crashed on the couch both days around 5pm even after drinking lots of coffee. I tell ya caffine just doesn't wake me up like it used to. :( Maybe its time to move to expresso and short blacks? :D Back into the "office" work mode for the next 2 days and then off again Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Commonwealth Games
So tomorrow is Day 0 (starts at 0 because its the opening ceremony). This evening, we ventured down after work to see the batton (not exactly as impressive as a flame) outside the GPO. The other highlights were getting freebies (like a temporary tatoo and Telstra "air sticks" promptly which were used to bash each other with, see the second pic :D) and also to listen to our esteemed mayor John So. After 30 years in Australia, I would have thought his english would be better :P
For a gold coin donation to a charity, they took these photos for us with a minuture batton. Sorry for the lack of quality, scanned polaroid images can only be so good :D

Jenny and I covering up Grant Hackett :D

End of yet another weekend, and the first one in autumn looked very much like summer. It was the first time in a long time since I had eaten Indian food which proved to be quite good, even though the restaurant (that we got takeaway from) looked completely dodgy with the shops surrounding it closed down and graffiti covering almost everything in sight. :D
Back the office tomorrow with heaps on but all crowded into the second half of the week. Its all the preparatory work that takes so much time and most of it has come together now. Hope that everything works out well and won't be spending hours dealing with bureaucracy again like last week. *rolls eyes* All just to spend a precious $59 which actually cost $100+ of my time. I would have just done it myself if we had the materials. *sigh*
