Irrelevant Ramblings

A look into the life of someone who is searching for everything without a map.

We're off to a enagement party tonight for at one of my friend's parent's house. Should be a good night with a marquee set up in the backyard and catering. And last night I got asked to be a groomsmen. :D

Simple minds, simple pleasures...

Went into the bank to ask something and got around to updating my details with them.

Bank guy: Which department do you work at?
Me: Infrastructure
Bank guy: uhh, how do you spell that? infrustrucure?
Me thinking: WTF? you can't spell but you are handling my money?

Fark! :(

On a better note, the weekend has started and its actually not raining and/or windy today. :D

Well, the Easter break has come and gone, back to work again and all that jazz. Surprisingly, not much chocolate was consumed although we did have to replicate with the Lindt bunnies a certain "Easter humour" email that was forwarded to me. Photos will be up shortly. :D

Now it becomes serious...

There was always something not quite right, just the lingering doubt in my mind that it was too good to be true. How can it be? Its impossible to have such a place in such an environment. But today, today it all became apparent to me. I've friggen joined the private sector :D Project plans are being checked, scrutinised and double checked. Timesheet allocations are being watched carefully to make sure that everyone is busy. No more slacking and all work must be chargeable and the list continues.

Of course, this was after a day where we spent a good half hour taking "group" photos in the coutyard (read: who works for which client) for some feel good forum next week with everyone acting like badly behaved children.

All is now shut down for the next 4 days and we will see where it goes next Tuesday.

4 day weeks coming up for the next 3 weeks. Easter next weekend and then Anzac Day the following Tuesday, so the fourth week is going to be a killer when we all have to go back to working a full 5 day week. Can't really complain for the time being though :) Weekend was so-so, nothing interesting, just the usual shopping and doing stuff around the house. I really have to find something interesting to do... and for Jenny to be free from her studying :P

How things were, and how they will never be again

About 1 year ago, I finally got over my "anger" at a certain person who hurt me deeply. We're still not on speaking terms now but at least I found closure in that I felt I had done everything that I thought was right and I will leave it to fate to determine what happens next. In my heart, it was one of those "constants" that would never go away but such is the real world that we all must accept the reality of the situation and move on with as little regret as possible about scenarios that could/should have happened.

Another weekend.. some photos will come along later from a Sunday drive up to the wineries in the Yarra Valley, but after looking at Clara's flickr photos, here are some of her favourite subjects.

Dessert platter at Shantell Vineyard

Yummy turkish food at Docklands

Back for another full week of work, was getting used to only working 4 days. Plus daylight savings just ended on Sunday, so it felt like 5pm when it was only 4.. bah! :(
