Living through a White (!?) Christmas

Not exactly what I expected to find in the front garden this Christmas morning. This was about 3 hours afterwards...

Apparently we didn't get it too bad, some areas it seemed like it had actually snowed. The bushfires were threatening the ski resorts last weekend, this weekend they are literally covered in a few millimeters of snow... all in the middle of Summer. :D

I had a great Christmas lunch today, not too much to eat, although I think turkey is off the menu for at least the next 3 months. :P

Three Cards

Christmas is so near, the shopping centres are open 24 hours again, I'm just really happy because I don't have to go to work again for the rest of the year :D Received a grand total of three Christmas cards this year, including the one from Fedex Kinkos. Fel sent me one from London where she is living now. Apparently she is spending NYE in NY. I'm sure that's going to such a mind-blowing experience.

I know someone who owes me two cards, a birthday (from four months ago no less) and Christmas one... you know who you are :P

Closure?

It's your birthday today. I still remember (thanks to Outlook) and I still remember that over three years ago when you pushed me away. I guess I should thank you for that reality check and walk away, but I still do care and just want you to be happy again. I hope you have found what you were looking for. Things will never be the same again but I hope we can at least talk to each other again one day. The ball is in your court.

Running Ahead of Schedule

Christmas cards have gone out, quite early compared to last year which was a real rush to get them out and to people before Christmas. It really helped that I was able to write them during the day :D This week has been a completely relaxing one. Doesn't mean I didn't do any work, just that it was good not to be, as Jenny puts it "under adult supervision."

Summer has hit and we actually had to turn to air conditioning on in the house today. A bit of a waste that we have an aircon that is used about 10 days a year, but usually it's in January and February. Global warming *sigh*
