Church News

Beach Volleyball and Outreach:
One of our church members, Paul Anger, has helped us to be part of a weekly beach volleyball competition at Glenelg, SA, where our church entered a team called "The Bappos". The games had been played on the beach just north of the Glenelg Jetty starting at 6:00pm each Mondays and then afterwards, we walked up and down Jetty Road doing outreach.
Status: 3rd Overall [see pictures and video clip 1, video clip 2].

Snow Trips:
There are quite a few snow trips being planned for 2007 year. The cost per person varies for each trip depending on what trip people go on and whether they borrow Pastor Neil Aitchison's snow gear or if they hire/buy their own snow gear. Evangelist Fraser Young has already been booked to speak at one of the snow trips and some churches in SA and on the east coast have been invited to come along. Below are the snow trips for 2006:
26-29 April, 2006, at Mt Buller, Mt Buffalo and Mt Hotham. There is already plenty of snow on the mountains, but there are no ski lifts operating seeing as the official snow season doesn't start until 10 June, 2006. This means that people will have to snowboard or ski down a slope and then walk back up to have their next go. It will be quite exhausting doing this, but let's face it - it's cheaper! Plus it is a chance for people to get some practice in before the "serious" snow trips later on.
Status: trip completed [see report and video clip].
13-16 June, 2006, at Falls Creek and Mt Hotham. The ski lifts will be operating seeing as the snow season officially starts on the 10 June, 2006.
Status: trip completed [see report].
17-22 July, 2006, at Mt Selwyn. This trip is during the winter school holidays and so the cost is higher than at other times. Preferences will be for school aged children and teenagers who are on school holidays.
Status: trip completed [see report and video clip].
3-5 August, 2006, at Falls Creek. This trip will be more for adults seeing as the slopes are steeper and more crowded - plus it is during the school term.
Status: trip completed [see report and video clip].
2-6 October, 2006, at Falls Creek. The last "hurrah", if there is any snow to ski on! It's also during the school holidays for young people to attend.
Status: cancelled due to no snow and earlier closure of ski resorts.

Ladies Evening With Mrs Joy Anger:
On Friday evening, 26 May, 2006, Mrs Joy Anger from "World Missions" will be visiting Adelaide and speaking at a ladies meeting hosted by our church. The meeting will be held in the evening at the home of Peggy Wood (Payneham, SA). It is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to hear Joy speak about her missionary support activities and the gospel message.
Status: concluded.

Meeting With Evangelist Fraser Young:
On Wednesday night, 16th August, 2006, Evangelist Fraser Young will be visiting Adelaide and speaking at a meeting hosted by our church. The meeting will be held at the church hall (13 Beatty Street, Linden Park, SA). It is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to hear Fraser speak and share the gospel message.

It is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to hear Gilbert speak about his missionary support activities and the gospel message.

"I am debtor both to the Greeks and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel......for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth""
