How the Chassis was shortened

Here we can see the original chassis cut at the right place (least tapered bit) and 5 securing holes drilled on each side of each section - these will be used to secure the sleeve.



The galvanised C section makes up the sleeve











The sleeve is then finally closed with a couple of runs of weld, this method welds the original chassis back together as well as welding the chassis to the galvanised sleeve. Plates will also be added for even further strength.
