Mount Gambier

This section  is part of Richard Harris' original website.  On his move to Vanuatu this valuable resource was lost to the Web, which I felt was a great shame,  and so with his permission I've put it here.  As I get the opportunity I'll add photos of my own.  I've added the sectional maps, which are shamelessly copied from the CDAA Website.

Each site name is linked to photos and/or information about that site. Large amounts of text come from Peter Horne's Lower South East Cave Reference Book (ISBN  0 9594383 9 4  published in Adelaide, South Australia, August 1993). This is an illustrated illustrated catalogue of the karst features of the Lower South East Region of South Australia. 

Peter "Puddles" Horne is in the midst of revising this remarkable catalogue of SE karst features, and has kindly given me permission to reproduce sections to complement my attempt to photograph as many of the sites as possible. It is a mark of the generosity of the man, that he is simply happy to see his work used in a way that might help educate others. 

I was fortunate enough that Peter was prepared to spend the time to try to teach me the rudiments of cave exploration and mapping in preparation for my move to Vanuatu.  There are some "dry" cave photos here.
