Project 4: Shiny Red Heart
Do you believe this heart is made up with only 3 prims?
The sizes used for this project are only suggested sizes; feel free to adjust the original prim to make it larger or smaller or thinner as you need. Adjust the colours, shininess or textures used too. As all other prims are copied from the first prim, your project will retain its proportions.
Prim 1
- Rez a Box
- General Tab: name it Prim 1
- Object Tab:
- Size: X= 0.300, Y = 0.300, Z = 0.100
- Texture Tab:
- Texture = Blank
- Colour = Red
- Shininess = Low
Prim 2
- Shift Drag a copy of Prim 1 to right along red axis
- General Tab: name it Prim 2
- Object Tab: Change Building Block Type to Cylinder
- Path Cut B = 0.250, E = 0.750
- Move Prim 2 along the red axis until it just touches the side of Prim 1
Prim 3
- Shift-Drag a copy of Prim 1 away from you along the green axis
- General Tab: name it Prim 3
- Object Tab: Change Building Block Type to Cylinder
- Path Cut B = 0.500, E = 1.000
- Move Prim 3 along the green axis until it just touches the side of Prim 1
Link
- Select all 3 prims and Link using one of these methods:
- Ctrl+L
- Cmd+L (Mac)
- Menu -> Tools -> Link
Unlink
- Select the linked prim you wish to Unlink, then use one of these methods:
- Ctrl + Shift + L
- Cmd + Shift + L (Mac)
- Menu -> Tools -> Unlink
Finishing Touches
- General Tab: Name linked object: Shiny Red Heart
- Object Tab: Rotation: Rotate X = 270.00, Y = 0.00, Z = 45.00
And now you have a Shiny Red heart that you can give to someone you care about on Valentines Day :)
