The Mighty Port Adelaide Football Club
Round 8
V
Port Adelaide
16.14 (110)
Collingwood
18.11 (119)

A good game all round despite the result. We thought, "here we go again" after we'd booted 4 straight goals to their 0 in the first quarter but to their credit they came back with 11 out of the next 12 and we played a game of catch up.  We did manage to keep a lid on it and Choco was doing a fair bit to keep the midfield rotating but it didn't help when you had players like Tarrant and O'Bree dominating in Collingwood's forward line. I thought Wangers and Cocky had exceptional games and they were so inspirational at the end of the game when we thought we could sneak it from the 'Woods.  I think they might still be pulling the goal post paint out of Che's back after he slammed into it backwards - ouch! Thank God Matty's only strained a ligament. One moment we were off our chairs smelling victory and the next we're slumped back down in them with our hearts in our mouths after seeing Primus go down in the centre. 4 weeks out means missing some pretty crucial away games (Hawthorn and Sydney) in the coming weeks. Let's see what young Cain Ackland can do. Hopefully we'll see Barnaby back as well. Monty, I know you wouldn't have slept very well on Saturday night (Shades of Stuey against Brisbane a couple of years ago). We cannot afford to make pressure mistakes like that and I'm sure this game was a great teacher as to what we have to improve.

Highlight:
Che kicking the goal that brought us within 2 points in the last minutes

Lowlight:
1) Matty being stretchered off.
2) Eddie McGuire marching with the team to the Collingwood supporters on the outer and singing the club song. Poofter.
