The Mighty Port Adelaide Football Club
Round 11
V
Sydney
18.17 (125)
Port Adelaide
10.18 (78)

Sooner or later we were due for a loss and this was a loss alright. Goddamn walloping. Sydney beat us at our own game and congratulations to them.  They managed to stifle Matty's input from the centre and also shut us down from just outside 50 with their flooding tactics.

Fosdike and Maxfield really turned it on and all  I could see was Sydney constantly running forward at speed. At one stage in the 3rd quarter, the ball must have entered our 50 maybe 2 or 3 times only.

Our kicking was pretty poor and when we made some errors, Sydney punished us with very quick turnovers.  Our defence seemed pretty weak at the SCG with Mead and Paxman not really figuring heavily.  Oh well, 1 week's break should be most welcome to settle some niggling injuries and soreness and, hopefully, we can come back at full strength back at home in a couple of weeks against Carlton.

Highlight:
1) Josh was sometimes really going for it which was very heartening.  Again, Che was very inspirational although him slamming into the hoarding wasn't very pretty.

Lowlight:
1) Wilbur going down with a ruptured anterior cruciate 2 minutes into the game. That's 12 months gone. Damn!
2) Poor kicking.
