77 points! How good is that.
I truly believed that this game was going to be really physical
and tough given the Dogs were going to fight for a place in
the 8. Did we show them? With our depth we are looking
really good for our finals campaign and it is quite amazing
that the best we can finish is second and the worst
is 3rd !!! Let's hope that we get the home final and kick
everyone's arse! On to the game.
Some absolutely stellar performances
in the first quarter ( take a bow, Che) helped blow things
open and it just kept getting better and better. The Doggies
had some really shocking accuracy which let them down badly,
but, furthermore, they just weren't hard like we were used
to. Especially at Colonial. Matthew Primus in ruck with
excellent support by Bishop in the 3rd and final quarter really
helped immensely.
Again, our midfield and defense
were really great and some great tackling by the boys, especially
when you saw players like Roger James taking Darcy down was
just awesome. Our running game is getting stronger and stronger
and Burgoyne's and Wanganeen's blistering pace was incredible.
Considering Wangers limped off the ground badly last week...
well, what a champion.
This game was really great to
watch because it shows what we are capable of when we're committed
and it is brilliant to see some outstanding performances from
players like Tredrea, Primus, Francou, Carr. Like Choco
was saying on the television coverage, we'll be pretty stiff
if Primus and Tredders don't make the All Australian team
for they year. Let's just see what sort of coverage we get
in the papers tomorrow, eh?
Highlight:
1) I can't even pick one this week because there
were so many. Tredrea's Performance, Dew's goals, Flash's
goals, Che's goals, Wanganeen's running, Wakelin's defense,
Primus' Captaincy... I mean, I don't know where to stop!
Lowlight:
1) None really, except for maybe, Che being taken
down in a big way and then missing from about 10m out. Not
to worry.
