The Mighty Port Adelaide Football Club
Round 10
V Port Adelaide Power
Hawthorn
12.5 (77)
Port Adelaide
17.15 (117)

A sensational effort by the Power on a tough away assignment at the little used York Park in Launceston, Tasmania. Prior to the game a lot of commentators were of the mind that it was going to be a tough game with the Hawks being pretenders to the 4th spot on the ladder. Not quite, fellas. They seem to have disappeared and got a little lost lately and our boys were able to exploit it extremely well. Choco got this one pretty right.

With our fluid running game, this game showed everyone what Port can do when it starts to string 4 good quarters although we did get a bit lost a the start of the 3rd quarter when we let them get a quick couple. Our midfield was just so bloody awesome today. Primus was, again, brilliant against Rehn who looked like a weed compared to Matty. What can you say about Josh Francou except he is so silky and with Tredrea playing the half-forward role brilliantly, it set up some great plays. Tredrea scored the highest number of marks - 16 - for an AFL player this season which was just awesome. We were pretty hard on him considering he kicked 3.2.

Defence was brilliant. Hardwick and Wakelin are really nuggety tough. When Hardwick was recruited, I thought, "OK, let's see what he can do" Well, he's just a legend isn't he? Tough as bloody nails I say. And Mead didn't play and Paxman still has to come back. What a back line we're going to have!

My last comments are left for Nick Stevens who ran the legs off of everyone. Sensational. Credit to Shane Crawford who was really switched on and made all his teammates look like they were training.

Highlight:
1) Wakelin's superb screamer in the first term.
2) Tredrea's solid hands.

Lowlight:
1) None
