Windchimes in the roses round the porch

Windchimes hang from arches supporting a tunnel of pale apricot-pink roses

Chimes distract from less pleasant sounds
So does 'the murmur of innumerable bees'
and birdsong.

This rose is a David Austen variety called 'Felicia'. It is heavily scented, & blooms for many months. A dense growth habit makes it excellent for screening large areas.Just one spray in a small vase will scent a whole room, making air fresheners redundant. Since the scent is, if anything, even stronger in the dried buds or petals, it can be used in pot-pourris, to make rosewater, or to flavour jellies & confectionery.
