In the beginning was the Adelaide Electricity Supply Company, which became the government owned Electricity Trust of South Australia, which was sold in pieces, including ETSA Utilities, which has responsibility for the electricity transmission network in South Australia, including receiving and responding to reports of power supply failures, street light failures, including removing dead electocuted possums from Stobie poles.
These lights are under a CLER (Customer Lantern Equipment Rate) arrangement between Council and ETSA. This means that any damage or fault in the lighting column, housing or fitting circuitry is the responsibility of Council to repair. Council pays a monthly tariff to ETSA however for them to repair any blown globes in these lights. So, any of these lights that have a blown globe need to be reported initially to ETSA. They will then replace it unless there is something wrong with the circuitry - which in this case, Mitcham Council will repair.
