Count Dooku
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

Worn for the Premiere of the Melbourne release of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones in 2002.

Count Dooku Quite a bit of referencing went into the making of this costume - made all the more difficult because the movie hadn't been released at the time the costume was made so it was pieced together from various "exclusive" shots that had turned up on the web. Though I think the best piece of reference was the early release of the Attack of the Clones Visual Companion. Very handy that.

Pants and tunic were very simple in design and quite easy to put together. The cape was a bit tricky and my girlfriend helped with making the shoulders and getting it to sit right while it was hanging. The "buckles" on the belt were made from balsa wood overlayed with lines from a stained glass kit, and then spray painted gold.

The riding boots were ones I already owned.

Sadly the lightsabre is a plastic toy version rather than a proper reproduction. I can dream though.
