Hugo Drax
Moonraker

My "Come as your favourite Villain" party
2002

While strictly speaking not my favourite villain, Drax was suitably debonair. A man of refined tastes who enjoyed the better things in life. The fact that he was the worst sort of eugenicist is another story all together. Better still, actor Michael Lonsdale actually looked rather similar to me.

It's a fairly simple costume. Basically it was just the jacket, made from a brownish twill, which Karen put together. One of the hardest things was trying to find a decent image of the Drax Enterprizes logo to put on the front. The logo was made by printing the image onto an iron-transfer and then overlocking around the edge of the design. The pocket flaps on the sides are false pockets.

Hugo Drax from Moonraker As a bit of a design scheme I also had various pictures stuck around the house featuring some notorious villains: both real and historical. From Captain Hook, Archibald Cunningham and Darth Vader to Henry VII, William Augustus (the Duke of Cumberland) and Al Capone. It was fun seeing how many of them people could guess!
