Worn to the Regency Ball 1999 Not a particularly flash "costume" as the jacket was hired. True to form I was running late getting my shit together and ended up chasing down a jacket from a military hire place. It looks as though it was an original dress jacket at some point as all the bullion edging on the collar and cuffs was metallic woven thread. The shirt, trousers, boots, and sash were all mine. One of the best things from that dinner was that a number of groups became involved and had members come along. There were people from the Jane Austen Society, the English Country Dance Association (who offered dance practice for a few months prior to the event), and several groups of Napoleonic War re-enactors. Through this I became better acquainted with the re-enacting community and the interests that went along with it.
