Eugene Britt is currently serving a life prison sentence for the Aug. 22, 1995, murder and sexual assault of 8-year-old Sarah Lynn Paulsen of Portage. That alone wouldn’t be enough to get the guy a slot on this site, so what’s he doing here?

Well, it would seem that Mr. Britt had a bit of a big mouth. But police should never had found out about his tales of murder as the man he told his stories too was the prison pastor.

And he even gave the pastor details about where he dumped the bodies. Details which were then passed on to police, who went out to one of the sites to see if Britt was telling the truth. One dead body later and they had themselves a suspected serial killer. Two later and he qualified for “The Wacky World of Murder”. I’m sure that’s what the police thought anyway.

But it didn’t end there. Acting on other statements passed on by the pastor they were able to find another five corpses.

On February 11, 2000, prosecutors filed six counts of murder and six counts of murder in the perpetration of rape against Eugene Britt. He was accused of killing and raping Tonya Dunlap, 24, of Knox, and Maxine Walker, 24; Nakita Moore, 14; Michelle Burns; Betty Askew, 51; and Deborah McHenry, 41, all of Gary, Indiana.

An additional charge of rape was also filed against Britt for the assault on a 13-year-old girl in May 1995. The girl escaped with her life because “she didn’t see my face.”

And I’m afraid that’s all I know. I found no news articles with anything even resembling a method of murder, or if the corpses were played with, or even if the women were ‘innocent’ or ‘prostitutes’, as the media usually like to classify them.

An Interesting Bit:
Britt lived next door to one of the victims, Deborah McHenry, when they were children.
 

MY OPINION

It’s always hard to make sarcastic, offensive comments when you know so little about the murders and victims. But I’ll give it a go anyway. Even though I don’t know what he did, and have very little respect for any person who needs to confide in someone of religion, I still reckon Britt could very well have even more crimes under his belt, and if so it would be impossible to ignore him like the media seem to have. One last thing, for some reason he strikes me as a strangler - I hope I’m right, I like stranglers - it’s so clean.
