Gerald and Charlene Gallego were a married couple living in California. Gerald seemed to have a problem with Charlene. He could never get it up around her, so, one day, Charlene decided to solve it (In fact, the only person he seemed to be able to get it up with was his daughter...). She suggested that they lure a couple teenagers to their van, rape them, and murder them.

Their first victims were a 16 and 17-year-old. They raped the girls, and, when they were finished, Gerald took a .357 Magnum and shot both girls after telling them to cross an irrigation ditch to go to a barn.

Charlene and Gerald decided to take a break, but struck again in 1979 killing two girls-- Brenda, 13 and Sandra, 14. After that, they decided to fix Gerald's limberdick problem in 1980. They got a couple of teenagers, Sharon, 17 and Tracy, 17. They lured them to the van, but the problem was that the girls knew all about sex, so there was no fear, and Gerald could keep it up no more (oh, darn!).

Soon afterwards, Charlene got knocked up, and Gerald (who had been afraid of pregnant women for most of his life) decided to kidnap, rape, and murder a pregnant girl named Helen at Gold Beach, CA. They screwed up this time, because, when she was buried, a dog found her bones.

For a birthday present, Charlene decided to take Gerald out to a bar. They picked up a bartender named Betty. They took her to their house, screwed her, and murdered her. Her body was thrown in San Francisco Bay, but didn't move, so the Gallego's screwed up, yet again.

Their final screw up was in October of 1980. They kidnapped a rich girl and her boyfriend. Gerald hit the boyfriend, Craig Miller, but didn't knock him out. They took the girl, Mary Beth Sowers, and did the rape/murder thing. This time, they screwed up because she was rich and important.

Eventually they were caught. After that, Charlene found out that Gerald had been hoarding money from her, so she rolled over on poor Gerry, and squealed all the evidence.

She was released on parole in 1997. As for Gerald, he's still on death-row... Poor guy... All he wanted was cheap sex! ;-)

And just to add a little bit of info to this page-

While awaiting trial in California the public raised over $23,000 to help prosecute Gerald. Obviously they wanted the guy to pay.

Gerald never met his dad. You see his old man was in San Quentin when Gerald was born. In fact Gerald Sr. became the first man to die in Mississippi's gas chamber following his murder of two police officers. Gerald jr. was told that his father died in an accident.

At the age of thirteen Gerald was locked up following a rape of a 6 year old neighbor.

Charlene was Gerald's SIXTH wife. Amusingly he had also married one of his former wives twice.
 

MY OPINION

 A great little bio there from WsltrSpc, one very cool chick. And a great killer couple, in fact I rate only Hindley and Brady and the Wests' higher than Gerry and Charlene as far as this type of thing goes. I think the fact that his old man also had violent impulses really makes this a pretty fascinating case.
