Jin Xiangwu

VICTIMS: 3

If this one doesn't make you smile then nothing will. I've heard of some petty reason to kill someone but I think that this one just about takes the cake. And it another Chinese tale, so that just makes it all the more special.

I think that we will start with the reason for the deaths. Duan Keke, 10, Xue Yashan and Du Ruofei, both 11, spent more than two hours playing in Jin Xiangwu video arcade and then slipped out without paying the fee of 2.5 yuan (30 US cents). This made Jin very mad. So mad that he swore revenge on the little bastards.

So, on February 27, 2000, Jin lured the three boys back to his parlour with the offer of free games. Unfortunately for the kids the games involved them being slaughtered by the rather nasty arcade owner and his equally vicious brother, Jin Xiangyu.

The brothers then took the bodies out to a gully and burned them. I guess that showed them.

But I guess Jin must have made a mistake somewhere along the line because he and his brother were arrested on March 5.

And just in case you didn’t realise, the Chinese take a very dim view on murder and they don't fuck around when it comes to waiting around for a trial date. Jin was tried and sentenced to death March 27, 2000, by the Intermediate People's Court in Luoyang, a city in central China's Henan province where the killings occurred. His brother got a bit luckier, only receiving ten years.

And that's pretty much all I have on this one. But if I know Chinese system then I reckon Jin will already be as dead as those three little mongrels that were taught to respect the local video arcade owner.

MY OPINION

I reckon this bloke has to take the cake in overkill. How would he have reacted if the little bastards had really ripped him off? But I think there's a better side to this tale, a side that an help those of you that are parents. If you want to teach your kids not to rip off shopkeepers then I reckon this would be a pretty good story to tell them. I know if I was still going to pinball arcades I'd definitely make sure I payed for everything after reading this.
