I
guess it was always bound to happen. I mean there must be
potential murderers visiting this site every day, but this
is the first time that I know of any of you lot going
through with your plans. What the fuck am I going on about?
Liam Youens, a guy that signed the guestbook at this site,
went out and killed a girl that he had been infatuated with
for over eight years on Friday the 15th of October, 1999.
You want to hear more?
Liam had barely spoken to Amy Boyer since their initial
meeting in eighth grade, but according to her parents he
became obsessed with the young woman over the following
years.
He told the world of his 'interest' on his webpage, which
has already been removed but I will be striving to find a
new link for it ASAP. Anyway, his 'interest' was Amy. For
those lucky enough to have seen his site they will be in
total agreeance that Liam's infatuation was well out of
control. The site was 'dedicated' to Amy. He had numerous
pictures of her and her friends, and stories of his time
with her Christian youth group. The site began, ''Amy Boyer.
Hi, my name is Liam, and this site is dedicated to that
wonderful person Amy Boyer.'' A very weird guy I'm sure
you’d agree.
''He openly talked about what he planned to do, for anyone
who found his page to see,'' said Tim Remsburg, Amy’s
stepfather. But as I'm sure anyone who's set up a webpage
will know it's very easy to not be seen on the Wide World
Web. The stepfather went on to say, ''The only problem for
us is that we didn't know about it. Nobody in her family,
none of her friends, Amy herself never knew about it.''
Perhaps she should have paid some attention to the losers
that followed her around then.
Youens listed three goals on his web site - to kill Boyer, a
person identified only as ''Owen,'' and as many of the
students at Nashua High School that had mocked him, as
possible. He also explained why he planned to kill the
girl/woman.
He had loved her, but not any more, and he couldn't
understand why. According to police he was doing it to show
the family and the local Police Department, that he was in
complete control.
Amy's family have also called for a regulation of the
internet, ''I'm angry because we as a public have so little
control over what is on the Internet." Liam's website had
been on display for at least two years. Since no one
reported it, It would seem to be pretty resonable to assume
that there is no way possible that we will be able to crack
down on sites like this in the future. What a pity.
The family also had a crack at this humble little site
stating that sites like this that "advocate criminal
actions” to be removed from their servers before people like
Liam can be influenced by them. Obviously I find this an
astounding statement. It’s ludicrous to say thing like this,
I mean over 300 people have signed the guestbook and only
one of those (that I know of) has gone on to murder anyone,
and it’s quite obvious that he was already well fucked up
before viewing anything I ever typed up. I guess that I
should be grateful to them and the newspaper though as they
have helped bump up the number of visitors to this site over
the past week.
One of Amy's friends, Bethanie Walters, said that ''Amy had
no idea of this guy, no idea she was being stalked,'' said
the girl whose picture was on Liam's site. ''Amy would have
spoken out and said something. She was the type of person
who would have said something.''
Walters said she, Amy and Jen vonHagn, all of Nashua, had
met Youens at a local church camp. ''He was a very quiet
boy,'' Walters said. ''He never spoke out much. He was just
a very quiet boy.''
Through high school, Walters said she and Boyer occasionally
would see Youens on the school bus, but rarely spoke to him.
''He was one of those people you don't even know is there at
all,'' VonHagn said.
Brian Boyer said the youth group was the only time his
sister and Youens' paths crossed. "She never knew that he
had any feelings for her whatsoever."
According to the Boston Globe, Liam had written something on
a site about suicide. He was painted as a guy that didn't
have the guts to kill himself, something he proved wasn't
true later. ''when I tried this, right before I cut ... I
dropped the knife and vomited.''
Again from the Boston Globe, "He was the only graduate of
Nashua High School to post an entry on the school's alumni
Web page, but under 'life story,' he wrote, 'Ummm ... I
better not, but you can email me if you would like to find
out more.' He gave ''johndoe'' as his user name."
At this site Youens gave his job title as software engineer
and included Rochester Institute of Technology under
education. He was listed in the student directory.
So after all this, what did Liam do? Apparently he waited in
his car for Boyer outside the dentist's office where she
worked, pulled up next to her, and shot her several times
before shooting himself. Yeah I know, a very anti-climactic
end to this story, but I think he may have made it to this
site even if he didn't sign the guestbook.
AND AS AN AMUSING POSTSCRIPT: Both Youens and Boyer will be
buried from The Church of the Good Shepherd. It was this
church where the two first met while attending the youth
group.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: ''How could somebody who was unstable and
so clearly reaching out for help get a legal permit for this
arsenal of guns?''
Some of Liam's poetry: Youens also included poetry about
loneliness. ''Seventy years of misery is my fate, can anyone
have the answer,'' and ''I pretend to be reading. I'm just
thinking about dieing [sic],''
AND NOW FOR THE BIT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR...

MY OPINION
How can this guy write, "BTW too much emphisis is put on
serial killers, most of them are losers who can't get a
date," in my guestbook. I mean if HE could get a date then
why did he have to worship a girl (who wasn't THAT
attractive) from a distance. I mean they are the comments of
a guy that goes out shagging every weekend, not a pitiful
loser that needs to kill someone to get any recognition from
his peers. So I'm putting Liam down? Yeah. I mean he didn't
even say anything particularly nice about this site. Maybe
if he put that he loved it as much as he did Amy, and maybe
if he wrote me something decent in his email instead of crap
like, "Why don't you put more on school killers?", then
maybe I'd like him more. But I doubt it. Still, it's pretty
cool that he visited the site and got me quoted in some U.S.
papers. Very cool in fact. Shame it wasn't a decent murder,
and he was such a pathetic loser. I would have claimed him
as my own if it was, but I guess I'll have to settle with
this for now.
note: I am NOT condoning his actions. I would NEVER
condone any act of murder. So don't do it!!! Now I won't get
sued by anyone I guess I can say that I would put you on the
site :-)
