Duran Duran....WTF?

I just had to comment on this. Duran Duran is once again back together and playing to (apparently) sold out crowds. Is the music industry so starved of new talent that the comeback of a dinosaur group would spark so much interest? I admit that these guys had talent. They wrote some pretty catchy tunes. And lets face it. The "Girls on Film" video clip is almost legendary. But come on guys! That was how long ago? Do you really think you can make a comeback after so long of a period that you can't even remember your last number one?
And yet, as I write these words, I am reminded that our music industry is so filled with megastar wannabe's that have no real talent other than being able to sing. (and then most not that well)! I guess at least if you guys still write your own songs and don't try to remake the work of some other artist that at least had enough imagination to pen his own work, then it can't be all that bad. For our sake, I hope this does not turn out to be another hasbeen band that wants to ride their long forgotten success once again to milk it for all its worth. It's far better to go out when your on top, than to be swept out with the used ticket stubbs. Good Luck!
