WOMD!!!!

Well the great news today is that Russia has decided to introduce a new high tech nuclear missile program to make sure they are better defended from possible enemies. Well that's fantastic! (sarcasm off) With the thousands of Russians starving in the country, I'm sure most of them are concerned about an unexpected invasion from a opportunist enemy. And to top it off, President Vladimir Putin sees this new system as a way of showing the Americans that the Russians are once again going to be a strong force to be reckoned with. In other words, mines bigger than yours. I am forever amazed at how we as a race are so willing to create weapons that can completely annihilate whole countries, and leave the world in a virtual wasteland for anyone who is unlucky enough to survive.

I long for the day that we can all realize that although we are many nations, we are one race. We have but one earth. Everything that one country does, inherently effects the others. We could achieve so much more in far less time if we worked together. If we pooled our resources. We all suffer many of the same afflictions. We are all searching for similar solutions. If we could all learn to live in peace and respect the individual religious beliefs of others, and if all races could learn to value the life of all living beings, then there would be no need for armed forces. No need for missile programs. No need for battleships and warplanes.

Instead, we could work on making every town a safe place from petty criminals. We could pool funds into cancer research. We could eliminate world hunger. We could eliminate poverty. There is a lot to be said for Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future. Think about it.........

Is anyone safe anywhere?

I currently live in a NSW city called Armidale. Population about 25,000. Not a very large city by any standard. We do however have a larger than normal indigenous population per capita. It would seem that this is becoming an even larger problem as far as the law is concerned. Of course the biggest problem with that is the law does not seem to be as firm with indigenous people as it does with white Australians. It would appear as though they are left to their own devices until they break the law so badly that it cannot be ignored. Where is the equality in that. The indigenous people scream out racial discrimination at every corner, and yet, if there is any racial discrimination in this county, its against white people.

Just this past weekend, an elderly white man on his way home from work in the early hours of the morning, came across what appeared to be someone injured on the side of the road. Upon stopping to investigate, he was set upon by a group of male and female young indigenous people and assaulted, then left in the gutter bleeding while they proceeded to steal his car.

Now I don't now about you, but after hearing this, I will not be stopping at night for anyone under any circumstance. So what does this mean? Basically, those who are really in need will suffer because of the acts of these cowardly indigenous people. And unless the government changes the rules to make all races equal in this country, it will only get worse. And if it means we have to pay an extra $5 a week in taxes or even $10 to ensure public safety at all times in out cities and towns, then so be it. Its time to clean up and make our communities safe once again. Don't let the country continue to go to the dogs........

The Phantom Strikes Again!

Operation Phantom Fury has struck against the Iraqi town of Fullujah. From reports so far, it would appear that many many many millions of dollars of artillery and explosives have been dropped on the town, and at the last report, about 38 insurgents had been killed. Now I don't want to sound saddistic or anything, but given the level of todays technology, that ratio of shots/kills seems a little low. Could it mean that the bulk of these rebels are in fact, not even in the town? Could it mean that they in some way new we were comming. I guess the news reports of our intentions would have in no way prepared these rebels to perhaps move out of harms way. Does America ever do anything without boasting about it first? I don't recall the rebels televising that they were about to kidnap some poor victim several days before the event.

I really don't understand at all. Is it that hard to keep a secret and tell everyone after you have suceeded or failed?

Recycle Australia

Well it would appear that Australia may not be the lucky country after all. News today reveals that we are behind a number of other countries in the world for recycling our waste. It appears that it is just not a priority in this sunburnt country. What kind of a world are we leaving for our kids? Do we not seem to care? Are we teaching our children how to look after the planet, or are we teaching them to spare nothing. Does anyone in this country care if ozone levels rise or fall? does anyone care if landfill sites become scarce?

This may have been the lucky country once. But now it seems we are the ignorant country. Are we to become as arrogant as our American counterparts? Will the rest of the world be leaning on us soon. Must we undergo trade sanctions before we wise up. One must ponder the question, Do we do as we preach? This little duck thinks not!
