Ostrich Plume Lace Capelet

Gauge : 25st/4in
Needles: 4mm circular (40cm, 60cm or 80cm)
Yarn: Sport/DK weight (I used Bellisimo 300m/50g ball)
Yardage: Just under 600m (you will need more yarn if you decide to upsize this pattern)
8 or more stitch markers
Cast on 120 stitches on shorter needles.
Knit 1 row around and then join, being careful not to twist the row.
Knit 1 round placing markers after every 30 stitches. Use a different coloured marker to mark the beginning of the round. Suggested marker placement as follows: Knit 30, place red marker, knit 30 place black marker, knit 30 place red marker, knit 30 place green marker, where green represents the start of the round, and red represents the side of the capelet. (It will all become clear when you start knitting the body)
Notes:
K = knit
YO = Yarn over
OPS pattern = K4tog, YO (K1 YO)5times, K4tog
Picot bind off = Cast off 2 stitches, *slip the stitch on right hand needle to left hand needles, cast on 2 stitches, cast off 4 stitches. Repeat from * to end.

Yoke:
Round 1: *K1 YO knit to 1 stitch before the marker, YO K1**, repeat from * to ** 3 times
Round 2: Knit all the way around
Repeat these two rows 24 more times. Each time you repeat round 1, you will increase the number of stitches by 8 stitches.
Once you find that you are running out of space on the 40cm needles, change to the 60 or 80cm needles.
Total number of stitches = 320 stitches (80 stitches between each marker)
You can make the yoke larger by increasing the number of repeats. This will make it longer and wider.
Body:
Round 1: K1 YO knit to 1 stitch before the black marker YO K1, slip marker K1 YO knit to 1 stitch before green marker YO K1
Round 2: Knit around
Round 3: K1 YO knit to 15 stitches before first red marker, *place blue marker, OPS pattern, K2, slip red marker, K2, OPS pattern**, knit to 1 stitch before the black marker, YO K1, slip marker, K1 YO, knit to 15 stitches before second red marker and repeat from * to **, knit to 1 stitch before green marker YO K1, slip marker
Round 4: Knit around
Repeat last 4 rounds 3 times (you don’t have to keep placing markers after the first time)
Round 17: K1 YO knit to 1 stitch before the black marker YO K1, slip marker K1 YO knit to 1 stitch before green marker YO K1
Round 18: Knit around
Round 19: K1 YO knit to 17 stitches before first blue marker, *place yellow marker, OPS pattern, K4, OPS pattern, K2, slip red marker, K2, OPS pattern, K4, OPS pattern**, knit to 1 stitch before black marker, YO, K1, slip marker, K1, YO, knit to 17sttches before blue marker, repeat from * to **, knit to 1 stitch before green marker, YO, K1, slip marker
Round 20: Knit around
(What you have done here is created another two columns of the ostrich plume lace pattern 4 stitches away from the first two columns)
Repeat last 4 rows 3 times
Round 33: K1 YO knit to 1 stitch before the black marker YO K1, slip marker K1 YO knit to 1 stitch before green marker YO K1
Round 34: Knit around
Round 35: K1 YO knit to 17 stitches before first yellow marker, *place purple marker, OPS pattern, K4, OPS pattern, K4, OPS pattern, K2, slip red marker, K2, OPS pattern, K4, OPS pattern, K4, OPS pattern**, knit to 1 stitch before black marker, YO, K1, slip marker, K1, YO, knit to stitches before yellow marker, repeat from * to **, knit to 1 stitch before green marker, YO, K1, slip marker
Round 36: Knit around
Repeat last 4 rows 3 times

Round 49: K1 YO knit to 1 stitch before the black marker YO K1, slip marker K1 YO knit to 1 stitch before green marker YO K1
Round 50: Knit around
Round 51: K1 YO knit to 17 stitches before first purple marker, *place brown marker, OPS pattern, (K4, OPS pattern) 3 times, K2, slip red marker, K2, OPS pattern, (K4, OPS pattern)3 times**, knit to 1 stitch before black marker, YO, K1, slip marker, K1, YO, knit to stitches before purple marker, repeat from * to **, knit to 1 stitch before green marker, YO, K1, slip marker

Repeat last 4 rows 3 times

Bind off round using picot bind off.
