INFORMATION: TOUR MARIAH'S APARTMENT

About Mariah's Apartment/Architectural Digest Mariah lives in a triplex in the famous Manhattan condominium "Tribeca" where the safety is specially strengthened for the celebrities. The interior designer Mario Buatta was in charge of the "look" of the diva's apartment; although Mariah already had a clear vision of how she wanted her appartment to look, her first real home after living in hotels since her split from husband Tommy Mottolla, whom she shared a mansion with. The mansion had been dubbed "Sing Sing" by Mariah. Sing-Sing is not only what Mariah had been expected to be constantly doing in the mansion, but is also the name of a prison in the New York State Prison System, thus having double meaning for Mariah, who has admited she felt trapped like a 'prisoner' in her marriage. Mariah wanted her apartment to be a true reflection of her, and her alone, as a sign of her independence and strength! In 2001, Mariah's appartment was featured in "Architectural Digest", a magazine which show cases some of the most beautifully decorated homes in the world. MTV Cribs Later in 2001, the house was to become an episode of MTV's "Cribs", a program giving the public a glimpse into the houses of the rich and famous. Mariah herself gave a tour of the multi-million dollar apartment, including rooms such as her famous wardrobe and her spacious bathroom. Mariah also gave us a glimps into a room called "The Butterfly Room", in which she keeps the precious gifts from her fans. Throughout the tour, Mariah changed outfits no less than five times to suit the mood of each room, in true diva fashion!
