Who is Chris Oaten?

What a hell of a question!

I currently work at the Advertiser Newspaper
Adelaide's only daily newspaper) writing special
feature supplements such as the
Inside and Out home and garden section which
publishes the first Friday of each month.

However, I've also been a waiter, restaurant
manager, cashier, ice-cream seller, cook and
bottle washer.

But for the last decade or so I've been a journalist
who can also photograph, although on occasions
I prefer to think of myself as a photographer who
also writes - it just depends on how well the pics turned
out on any given assignment.

Prior to beginning at The Advertiser I
freelanced for a while, principally out of
Darwin.

My most significant clients/publishers have included:

The Advertiser, The Canberra Times, Herald-Sun,
GEO, Australian Photography, Northern Territory
Tourist Commission, NT Conservation Commission,
South Australian National Parks and Wildlife Service,
SA Department of Environment and Natural Resources,
and Brookway TAFE.

Given a choice of doing anything in particular, then I'd be happy to spend the rest of my life working as a travel writer/photographer/photojournalist/editor.

Anyone wanna make an offer?

If you'd like to get in touch, mail me.
