ABSTRACT
Notes on the Western Australian flora in the South West Region

The plant species seen on a trip from Perth travelling east over the Darling Ranges to Hyden then south to Esperance (Cape le Grande National Park).  The next section covered travelling west to Albany then north over the Stirling Ranges to the Stirling Ranges National Park and finishing at Perth.  Also containing notes on Kings Park and a short tour to the Darling Ranges.  (September, 2000)

    Fifth Day Albany to Perth
    Albany is on King George III Sound of Vancouver.  Not what has now become the generic name, King Georges Sound.
    The Stirling Ranges National Park had Banksia coccinea, the "Southern Cross Flower" Xanthosia rotundifolia. This flower relies on the sun to open and close the petals.
    A "large colony" of Banksia coccinea resides in this park.  Other genera to be seen are Petrophile, Stirlingia and Dryandra.
