KANESADA (“kodai”) late koto Mino (K100): tanto

KANESADA, late Muromachi period;

mei: “Kanesada”
sugata: tanto, hira-zukuri, uchi-zori, iori-mune.
nagasa: 20.0 cm, width at hamachi 1.96 cm, thickness at hamachi (kasane) 0.80 cm.
nakago: slightly suriage, kuri-jiri tip, 2 mekugi-ana, ni-ji mei.
hamon: nie-deki suguha with wide nio-guchi, and many ko-ashi.
boshi: long boshi pointed jizo and small kaeri.
kitae: tight ko-itame hada with ji-nie.

Small tanto and thick, yoroi-doshi style, of late Muromachi period. Attributed as a late koto generation (kodai) Kanesada. Nakago slightly shortened and also machi-okuri (machi moved up).
