KANETSUGU (NOSHU) late koto Mino (K105): tanto

KANETSUGU, Nanbokucho period;

mei: “Kanetsugu”
sugata: tanto, hira-zukuri , slight uchi-zori, iori-mune.
nagasa: 27.3 cm, width at hamachi 2.94 cm, thickness at hamachi (kasane) 0.95 cm.
nakago: osuriage, kuri-jiri tip, 2 mekugi-ana, mumei.
hamon: ko-nie suguha slightly irregular.
boshi: o-maru with hakikake and medium kaeri.
kitae: ji-tetsu of very tight ko-itame and ko-mokume hada mixed with much ji-nie. There is utsuri on ji-tetsu.

Very thick straight tanto of late Muromachi period. These Kanetsugu 兼次 are probably in Seki and derived from Shizu Kanetsugu.
