KANEMOTO shodai (AKASAKA), late koto period Mino;

omote mei: “Noshu Akasaka (no) Ju Kanemoto Saku”;
ura mei: “Meio Ku Nen Ni Gatsu Hi” (A day 2nd month 9th year Meio; February, 1500);
sugata: shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune; wide mihaba, chu kissaki;
nagasa: 69.7 cm, zori 1.8 cm;
nakago: ubu, one mekugi ana, takanoha yasurime, rounded iriyama-gata; omote hachi-ji mei, ura shichi-ji date;
hamon: gunome-midare with togariba, some ko-notare towards kissaki;
boshi: ko-maru with small kaeri;
kitae: itame;

This katana is by the shodai KANEMOTO, probably towards the end of his career.
Considered to have worked in Akasaka.
