omote mei: “Noshu Akasaka (no) Ju Kanemoto Saku”;
ura mei: “Taiei Hachi Nen Hachi Gatsu Hi” (A day 8th month 8th year Taiei; August, 1528);
The year Taiei 8 is also Kyoroku 1;
sugata: shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune; chu kissaki;
nagasa: 60.7 cm, zori 1.2 cm;
nakago: ubu, two mekugi ana (also two plugged holes), takanoha yasurime, rounded iriyama-gata;
omote hachi-ji mei, ura shichi-ji date;
hamon: gunome-midare with choji, some togariba, occasional sanbonsugi;
boshi: midare komi, ko-maru with small kaeri;
kitae: itame;

Short katana by the nidai KANEMOTO known as MAGOROKU, probably towards later part of career, and
developing sanbonsuji hamon.
