KANEFUSA late koto (K64): tanto

KANEFUSA, late koto period;

mei: “Kanefusa”.
sugata: long tanto hira-zukuri, sori 0.3 cm, iori-mune.
nagasa: 30.0 cm; width at hamachi 2.65 cm, thickness at hamachi (kasane) 0.52 cm.
nakago: ubu, kurijiri, 3 mekugi-ana (one double), ni-ji mei.
hamon: nie-deki very irregular gunome midare and togari gunome, in lower blade hamon starts above hamachi (yakiotoshi), plus some yakidashi. Many sunagashi scattered. Middle section is Kanefusa “Kenbo midare”.
boshi: pointed ko-maru boshi with nie and small kaeri.
kitae: jitetsu is grained itame hada with much ji-nie, and some open grain (rough jigane).

There are a number of KANEFUSA, this one is of Kanefusa Ha late Muromachi (Sue-Koto), around Genki period (1570+), ranked as chu-josaku.
