KANEFUSA (shodai?) late koto (K71): otanto

KANEFUSA, late koto period;

mei: “Kanefusa”.
sugata: otanto (sunnobe) hira-zukuri, torii-sori of 0.4 cm, iori-mune.
nagasa: 33.0 cm; width at hamachi 3.01 cm, thickness at hamachi (kasane) 0.68 cm.
nakago: ubu, rounded kiri tip, 4 mekugi-ana (3 holes are plugged), ni-ji mei, higaki yasurime.
hamon: ko-nie deki, gunome midare on notare, thin nioi-guchi.
boshi: jizo with nie with medium-long kaeri.
kitae: itame hada with even well done grain and much ji-nie.
Horimono: bo-hi on both sides, with groove into nakago (kaki-nagashi).

There are a number of KANEFUSA, this one is of Kanefusa Ha late Muromachi around Eiroku period (1558+). This is a substantial sunnobi tanto. Ranked as cho-josaku. It is possibly work by the shodai, and the thin nioi-guchi is noted.
