KANEUJI (NOSHU) late koto Mino (K97): sunnobi tanto

KANEUJI, late Muromachi period;

mei: “Noshu Ju Kaneuji”
sugata: sunnobi tanto, hira-zukuri, koshi-zori 0.7 cm, iori-mune.
nagasa: 38.6 cm, width at hamachi 2.89 cm, thickness at hamachi (kasane) 0.59 cm.
nakago: ubu, ha-agiri kuri-jiri tip, 1 mekugi-ana, go-ji mei, higaki yasurime.
hamon: nie-deki based on suguha with shallow notare with some low gunome midare.
boshi: jizo and small kaeri.
kitae: jitetsu is itame hada with obvious grain

Long tanto of wakizashi length of late Muromachi period. This blade is attributed to Kaneuji of Akasaka Senjuin Ha of Mino Province who worked in Bunmei period (1469+).
