KANEWAKA katana possibly early Edo period;

mei: “Kashu Ju Kanewaka”
sugata: katana, shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, chu kissaki;
nagasa: 65.4 cm; motohaba 2.82 cm, thickness 0.59 cm, sori 1.2 cm
nakago: ubu, one mekugi ana, go-ji mei, blunt kata-sagi jiri, kiri yasurime;
hamon: pointed gunome midare, quite irregular, with deep ashi;
boshi: rounded ko-maru with small kaeri;
jitetsu: itame hada with black grain;

Texture of ji-tetsu represents work of northern Japan.
The mei is not well cut and may be questionable.
