KIYOMITSU katana middle Edo period (Genroku 1688+);

omote mei: “Harima no Daijo Fujiwara Kiyomitsu”;
ura mei: Genroku Yon Nen Ni Gatsu Kichi Jitsu; 4th year Genroku, 2nd month, a lucky day (February, 1691);
sugata: longer katana, shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, sori 2.27 cm, medium (chu) kissaki;
nagasa: 68.8 cm; motohaba 2.84 cm, sakihaba 2.00 cm, kasane 0.61 cm;
blade has been shortened around 3 cm by moving ha-machi and mune-machi;
nakago: ubu except for machi, kashu-nakago (cut at angle), one mekugi ana, mei and date;
hamon: medium-wide suguha with nie-deki, wider towards kissaki;
boshi: medium ko-maru with some kinsuji, small kaeri;
jitetsu: itame hada, good grain, abundant ji-nie, and chikei in the ji;

blade has deep sori and changed to have very long nakago ;
