KANEMITSU early Shinto (S41): wakizashi

KANEMITSU, early Shinto period;

mei: “Noshu Seki Ju Kanemitsu”.
sugata: katana, shobu-zukuri, torii-zori of 1.5 cm, iori-mune.
nagasa: 37.6 cm; width at hamachi 2.88 cm, thickness at hamachi (kasane) 0.53 cm.
nakago: ura, kuri-jiri tip, 2 mekugi-ana, ni-ji mei.
hamon: nie-deki gunome midare plus togari-ba with much wide nioi-guchi.
boshi: ko-maru, nioi-guchu and small kaeri.
kitae: jitetsu is itame hada with good grain plus chikei. On ji is shirake utsuri.

Wide, thick, curved wakizashi (sunnobi tanto) of Keicho period (1596+) at beginning of Shinto period with many strong Mino-den features. Continues from Sue-Seki Kanemistu line.
