Masatsune (Sagami no Kami)

MASATSUNE I (shodai) katana, early shinto period;

omote mei: “Sagami no Kami Masatsune Nyudo”
ura mei: nil
sugata: shinogi zukuri, iori-mune, tori-sori of 1.6 cm;
nagasa: 73.6 cm
hamon: wide suguha mixed with ko-midare, has ko-nie and nie, wide nioi on edge;
boshi: deep omaru with a long kaeri;
kitae: ko-itame mixed with masame;
nakago: one mekugi ana, katte-sagari yasurime, ubu;

He worked in Seki in late koto as Kanetsune, then moved to Owari.
This sword was made after he moved to Owari, and is unusual as it is a large katana; the shodai made few katana, but more tanto, yari and ko-gatana.
