~Why Guy?~

So just why does Guy deserve to be our Australian Idol?
He's got the best male voice in the competition. Okay, some people might like Shannon's more gravelly/husky voice better, and that's cool, not every voice'll appeal to everyone. But Guy's voice is very sophisticated - he can do all sorts of complicated things with it - and so melodic that when he sings slow songs, you can just melt. (Well, I can anyway. ^_^.)
His performances have all been flawless, apart from the first three or four where he was criticised for doing too many runs with his voice (but I think it's better to be told off for doing complicated things with your voice than for being a bad singer ^_^.). He's never done a lousy or mediocre performance. They've all been executed well and enjoyable to watch. ^_^. Even when he's got the flu, he still does a great job.
He's got the moves, man. He can funk up his songs and groove with them. He moves pretty well, and very naturally. Even when he's wearing a big fluffy coat. ^_^.
The 'depth' Marcia talked about. He really connects with all his songs, whether they're lighter or more passionate. He likes songs that have meaning, and that's cool; all the more so when he comes to writing his own stuff.
Musical prowess. Not only can he sing and perform well, but he can arrange all his songs, and does so well. He can also write music, and plays the guitar and piano. He taught singing once; he seems to know a fair bit about music.
He has fun with it all. He genuinely seems to enjoy all the cool things he gets to do, and enjoys performing; he's really in it for his love of music. He often comes off from a performance laughing and saying "that was fun!". And I do like to watch someone who's having fun.
The fashion. A guy who's good with fashion and knows what looks good on him. Ain't it cool?
He's creative. Not only in his arrangements and in how he prepares each song, and in his clothes, etc, but also in his choice of songs - he always seems to pick what'll work for him, and what'll mesh well with the available backing (like when he chose Thicke's song for the strings orchestra).
He just exudes nice. We like our stars to be cool but approachable and down-to-earth, right? Doesn't have a big head and seems to be pretty mature for his age. He's also a hard worker and puts a lot of effort into what he does.
He's a Christian, and he's a cool one who seems to practice what he believes. He's got integrity and high standards. Okay, well, that's a reason for me, anyway, if for nobody else; I think it's cool to see a Christian in the limelight. ^_^. He's a good example and a good role model.
The 'fro. Okay, nobody should become the Australian Idol on the basis of their hair... but c'mon, it's pretty cool, ain't it? And he's got his own trademark and slogan ("Go the Fro!") - who else can say that? Everyone who wants to show their support for Guy dons a curly black wig and the point is made. ^_^.
The name. Not only does 'Guy Sebastian' have a cool ring to it, but it's the *best* name for making puns out of and signs for. There's about a million possibilities. We've seen things from "Guy Pride" to "A Hell of a Guy" to "Pretty Fly for a Guy". No wonder there are so many Guy signs. ^_-.
General consensus! Okay, not totally... But Paulini, Levi and Millsy all picked Guy to win, and even McDonalds was giving out 'Go the Fro' and 'Vote #1 Guy' stickers with every meal (in some Maccas they're all wearing fros ^_^.). (Probably that's just an Adelaide thing but I still thought it was cool. ^_^. After all, if McDonalds says it, it's gotta be true, right? ^_-.)
He's a unique talent. Who else is quite like this guy? How many Australians do we have with the same style, the same moves, the same style of music and voice? He'd do us proud on the international stage!
