The cry from Raul used to be "Ladies and Gentleman, our piano player, Mr Jerry Dale McFadden."
For around 5 years (1994-199) Jerry Dale McFadden was the 'Official un-official fifth Maverick,
and his keyboard contributions to the sound of The Mavericks' live performances was second to none!!
And his 'crazy' antics and colourful satorial contributions were also considered mandatory for a
Mavericks 'live' experience.
Unfortunately, many good things seem to find their way to an untimely end, and prior to a new record
deal with Mercury -Nashville, Jerry Dale McFadden and the Mavericks parted ways. His ebony and
ivory tinklings will be sorely missed! (Not to mention the green hair!)

However he will continue to release work as a solo artist and is still a much in-demand session / live
musician. He has toured briefly with Owsley. Most recently he has been touring and completing sessions
with 6p None The Richer for their new album to be released in 2002. He has also played and co-wrote
one song on the self-titled album by Trent Summar and the New Row Mob, released in August 2000 on
the Spark label.  In addition to playing keyboards on the album, he can be seen in two videos that will
debut on CMT for the songs, New Money (the first single from the album) and Paint Your Name In Purple
(in the video for the latter, Jerry Dale is, according to the man himself and having seen the video I can agree,
"back to being his old ridiculous self.")

Jerry has also been collaborating with Robert Reynolds and musicians from other 'bands' in a free-floating
line-up that goes under the moniker SWAG , and have released and album, several 7" vinyl singles and a
CD-EP. SWAG also started touring the USA during 2001.  He has also joined in sessions and live performances with the other Robert Reynolds and Paul Deakin beat combo, Paint .

Other musical adventures for Jerry include composing, arranging and playing 'soundtracks' for children's
video stories. These have been released on video only, through Scholastic via their Weston Woods
division.

Jerry Dale married his sweetheart, Julie Atherton, on March 27.

As as solo artist, he has released two solo albums to date, both on independant lables.
He is undoubtably a very talented and original musician, whose name should always attract much, much
more than a passing interest - it should grab your attention - and your ears!!

In addition to his work with The Mavericks, Jerry Dale McFadden has provided significant contributions
to other many other artists within the rock'n'roll arena. He can also be found using his amazing and original
musical skills to compose and play the soundtrack music that accompanies the video interpretations of
popular children's story books. Various members of The Mavericks have also assisted in performing these incidental pieces including Raul Malo, Robert Reynolds and the Havana Horn player, Scotty Huff.

Jerry Dale McFadden has constantly dabbled in songwriting. He has writen several songs with singer /
songwriter Christopher Wyant, otherwise known as Hayseed, who has himself recently released his own
album Melic to great critical reviews. One song that he and Hayseed wrote, Clear My Head was recorded
by The Walter Eugenes (StarSong Records) and became the #1 Christian Alternative Rock song for a
couple of months in 1995 and also selected by CCM magazine as the #10 Rock song of that year. Jerry
he has also contined writing with Robert Reynolds and Havana Hornist, Scotty Huff.
