Hi! Mark and Linda welcome you to the Barossa Daylilies website. We are hobby daylily growers from the Barossa Valley, South Australia. We currently grow over 130 named cultivars of daylilies, from tiny miniatures through to large flowered cultivars. As well as named cultivars, we also hybridise and grow new plants from seeds. You can see the blooms of some of these plants in our Seedlings pages. None of the seedlings appearing in this gallery are available for sale as yet. We will only release plants that have undergone evaluation and passed the test in terms of their overall performance - a combination of many qualities. "Barossa Daylilies" is a hobby, not a business. We do sell surplus plants when available, and try to keep our prices low to make the best stock available to fellow daylily enthusiasts and gardeners at reasonable prices. All funds from plant sales are put back into our hobby and used to improve our breeding stock, buy fertiliser etc. We are not out to compete with the major daylily nurseries or to make millions. Currently we can send plants to any states of Australia except Western Australia and Tasmania. Please feel free to make enquiries even if you are from these states - if there is enough demand we may have to investigate how we can go about this. Our daylilies are tough. We have temperatures here that range from -4C below freezing overnight in Winter through to daytime maximums up to 45C in Summer. We do the bulk of our digging and dividing in April, but daylilies can be sent out at other times if available. Email us barossadaylilies@internode.on.net if you would like our list (when available) or for other enquiries. |
