March 2000 Sky & Telescope article errata
- On page 73, the phrase "real numbers" was changed to "decimal numbers" which is actually incorrect since decimal merely refers to the radix/base of the number system (e.g. decimal vs hexadecimal) whereas real refers to the kind of number, i.e. integer vs real. I imagine people will mentally skim over this though, since the words "floating point" follow. This change was introduced after I sent feedback re: the S&T draft.
- While reviewing the aforementioned draft I completely missed the editorial addition on page 74 of the suggestion that a word processor be used to enter the text of the example ECMAScript program, rather than a text editor. This has caused some confusion for people who haven't realised the need to save the file as text rather than say in HTML or Word format. In my original transcript I just said that a text file needed to be created, but didn't say how. I probably should have added something like "e.g. using Notepad (PC) or SimpleText (Mac)".
